Online Banking FAQ

What is Internet Banking?
Eagle Bank Internet Banking is a convenient way to access your accounts without going to the Bank. Eagle Bank is available to you from your home or office - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week just by using your personal computer.

What Can I Do With Internet Banking?
You can access your checking, savings, line of credit, certificates of deposits, or loans to verify balances, *transfer money between accounts, and export information to your personal financial software.

*Some restrictions apply to transfers (ask our Customer Service Representatives for clarification).

How Do The Balances That Are Shown Online Compare To The Bank Computer Balances?
We use “Real Time Access” for our balance information. This means that the balance you see at home is exactly what the balance shows at the bank. If you make a deposit or cash a check or even use your Debit card, you will be able to see that transaction online immediately.

How Much Does Internet Banking Cost?
The service is free for our customers.

Is Internet Banking Private and Secure?
Yes it is. We have incorporated state-of-the-art security into its Internet Banking to ensure both privacy and security. We require passwords, data encryption, firewalls and internal security procedures.

What Is Data Encryption?
128-bit electronic data encryption provides privacy for the data flowing between your computer and the bank’s online server.

What is a Firewall?
Our computer systems are protected by a system of filtering routers and firewalls, which create a protective shield between the outside Internet and the internal network of Eagle Bank. We use several layers of technology to ensure that your Internet transactions are secure and tamper-proof.

What Can I Do To Protect Myself?
Your Access ID and Password provide one of the most important security features for Internet Banking. Because you can select and change your password at anytime, you can prevent unauthorized online access to your accounts.

Other security tips:

  • Keep your web browser software up-to-date to take advantage of the latest security enhancements.
  • Take precautions to keep your computers free from viruses that might be used to capture password  keystrokes or send information from your hard drive.
  • Please be careful where you choose to do your Internet Banking and what you do with your transaction data.  DO NOT use coffee shop Internet hook-ups or rented computers. Computers can be configured to capture private information from unsuspecting Internet users.
  • If you get an unexpected web page asking you for your credit card, password or account information, DO  NOT disclose this information.
  • DO NOT share diskettes that contain confidential information even if you think you have erased the information.
  • It is a good idea to shred printouts of your account information before discarding them.

What Equipment Do I Need?

For PC Banking you will need an IBM-compatible personal computer, running Windows version 3.1 or later, and a compatible modem. Your browser must support 128-bit encryption. To access Internet Banking you need Internet access and a browser with a version of 5.5 or higher (for best results use Internet Explorer).

Can I Access Internet Banking Through My Current Internet Service?

Yes. The browsers that we require work with most Internet service providers.

Does Internet Banking Work With Quicken and Microsoft Money?

Yes it does. Data can be downloaded to spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel or other personal financial management software such as Quicken or Microsoft Money in a “qif” file format.

Who Do I Contact If I Have Problems Or Questions?

You can contact us by calling one of our Customer Service Representative at any Eagle Branch.

How Do I Get Started?

If you have an account with Eagle Bank, you will need to go to our web site at www.eaglebankmt.com, click on the “Online Banking” button. You will then click on the “Enrollment” button, which will take you to the disclosure page. After reading and agreeing to the disclosure click on the “I Understand and Agree” button.  You will then fill out the Enrollment Form. We will then mail two (2) separate notices to you, one with your Access ID and one with your Password.  Once you have received both notices you can go to the Online  Banking site and choose the “Log In” button. At this time you will input the Access ID and Password that was sent to you, and you will then be prompted to change your Password.  At the same time you may change the Access ID. You are now off and running.

How Long Will It Take To Get Setup For Online Banking?

Your Access ID and Password will be assigned and mailed to you within 3-5 days. The Access ID and Password are mailed in separate envelopes and mailed one day apart for security purposes.

When I Log In for the first time I get the error message “Invalid Security Code”. What am I doing wrong?

When entering the Access ID and Password you received by mail, you will need to enter them exactly as they appear on the notice. The system is case sensitive so be sure to enter capital letters. In addition, the letter O can sometimes fall between numbers. This can sometimes be confused for the number 0. Be sure to try either option.

If I have multiple checking and savings accounts, do I have to enroll for each account?

When you enroll using your account you should see all accounts you are a signer on at Eagle Bank. If you do not see all accounts they may not be linked to your other accounts. Contact Eagle Bank support and we will help you gain access to all your accounts.
